(Milford)– Some well-done hamburger caused some excitement early this (Saturday) morning at a Milford apartment complex.
Fire Chief Don Eckard tells KUOO news an occupant of a unit on the third floor of one of the buildings fell asleep while cooking some hamburger.
The char-broiled burger filled the building with smoke, causing alarms to go off. Eckard says the structure was evacuated as a precaution while firefighters ventilated it. There was no actual fire, and Eckard says there was only some very light smoke damage to the one unit. The building’s occupants were allowed to return in less than an hour.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities were called to the scene around 1:30 a.m.
