(Estherville)– The President of Iowa Lakes Community College is retiring after four years at the helm. Mike Hupfer informed the college’s board of trustees of his intentions at their regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening. He’ll be retiring effective February 1st, 2006. He’s been President of Iowa Lakes since November of 2001.
In a statement to the board, Hupfer said he’s appreciated the board’s leadership as they expanded the college with new programs, including wind turbine and technology, massage therapy, computer forensics, evening and weekend nursing, paramedic, landscape and turfgrass technician, pharmacy technician, biomass energy processing, sustainable enery resources management and web development and design.
Hupfer is also serving this year as President of the “Presidents Group” of the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees and presidents.
In accepting Hupfer’s retirement, ILCC Board President Jack Tatman thanked him for his years of service.
