(Emmetsburg)– Another meth-related site has been found in the area. This one is in Palo Alto county.
The Sheriff’s Office says it received a report Wednesday evening from a farmer who reported seeing a 20 pound propane cylinder in a drainage pipe next to a bridge on 400th Street southwest of Emmetsburg.
Authorities responded to the scene, along with the Emmetsburg Fire Department and the State Fire Marshall, who put on protective gear and retrieved the cylinder and a hose. Authorities say there was anhydrous ammonia in the cylinder. The items were decontaminated and disposed of.
Authorities remind farmers heading back to the fields and those doing spring clean-up to be on the look-out for suspicious items. If you see something out of the ordinary you should leave it alone and contact you local law enforcement agency as soon as possible.
