(Arnolds Park)– Most of the Iowa Great Lakes Corridor was in the dark this (Saturday) morning as a result of the extremely high winds that are buffeting the region.
Scott Drezinski, a spokesman for Alliant Energy, tells KUOO news a 69 kilovolt transmission line went down due to the wind, knocking out power to the south side of Spirit Lake and all of Okoboji and Arnolds Park.
Drezinski says crews restored power to most of the affected areas in about an hour.
The power went out shortly after 9:00 a.m. and came back on in most areas at 10:02 a.m.
