(Arnolds Park)– The Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum has sold some excess land that adjoins Highway 71 just south of the Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
Spokesman Tom Kuhlman tells KUOO news the sale was finalized in the past week. A sign advertising the land for sale touts a “Sold” sign.
Kuhlman says the land was purchased by an Omaha developer. He wouldn’t elaborate on the plans for the site, but he says it should compliment the nearby amusement park.
Kuhlman says the land brought 495-thousand dollars. The money comes at a crucial time for the Maritime Museum, which needs to pay off a debt in addition to having to come up with money to pave the amusement park parking lot.
