(Arnolds Park)– The Chairman of the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum Board of Directors says the resignations of Cary Parker as General Manager of the Arnolds Park Amusement Park and Tom Kuhlman as the Maritime Museum’s President took him by surprise.
Rick Johnson tells KUOO News he wasn’t expecting either one to step down.
Johnson says the positions Parker and Kuhlman held, along with all others in the Maritime Museum operations, were going to be reviewed and evaluated…based on a recommendation from a consultant…Jim Frost.
Frost presented his report to the board at its meeting Friday evening. It was shortly after the report was presented that Parker and Kuhlman announced their resignations, both effective December 1st.
Even with the latest developments, Johnson said he’s still confident the Maritime Museum Board will be able to get its finances in line and regain the public trust.
