(Arnolds Park)– Business is up considerably so far this summer compared to year ago at the Arnolds Park Amusement Park.
That’s according to financial data presented at Friday’s meeting of the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum Board. Jim Frost reported daily revenue from credit cards, cash and checks as of last Sunday totaled 596,295-dollars. That compares with 499,011-dollars a year ago. Expenses were also down considerably from a year ago. With those figured in, the net operating gain as of June 30th was a positive 77-thousand dollars…compared with a negative 146-thousand dollars a year ago…for a turnaround of 224-thousand dollars.
That drew smiles from board members, who credited Frost’s management and the hard work of park employees in holding the line on spending and increasing business.
They’re cautiously optimistic numbers will remain up the rest of the summer.
