(Spirit Lake)– Charges have been filed against a Marathon man in connection with an alleged incident Friday evening in Spirit Lake.
20-year-old David Rodriguiz was charged with kidnapping, a class “C” felony; interference with official acts; domestic abuse assault…a serious misdemeanor; and operating while intoxicated, second offense…an aggravated misdemeanor.
Rodriguiz was caught after a short foot pursuit. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail.
Spirit Lake police say they were called to the corner of 19th Street and Fargo Avenue after they received a report that a woman had fallen out of a moving vehicle. Upon further investigation it was determined the woman had been assaulted in the vehicle and jumped out of it to get away. The unidentified woman was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with road rash and other injuries.
Spirit Lake police were assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place around 9:00 p.m. Friday.
