(Rock Rapids)– A northwest Iowa man is accused of intentionally hitting a woman with a car he was driving.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says 29-year-old Christopher Huisman of Rock Rapids drove a vehicle up onto the lawn of a residence in the 800 block of Third Avenue South in Rock Rapids, striking a female. Authorities say Huisman then drove away.
He was arrested Wednesday on charges of driving while suspended…a simple misdemeanor…and intimidation with a dangerous weapon…a class “C” felony. Huisman was booked into the Lyon county jail and has since been released on bond.
The female was treated at a local hospital for numerous bruises and other minor injuries.
Authorities say the incident took place in the early morning hours this past Sunday, June 20th.
