(Des Moines)– Some local students won top honors in their respective grade levels in this year’s Iowa State Fair Essay Contest.
Sisters Sara and Sadie Mae Range of Milford were the top winners in the sixth grade division; Amanda Kropf of Graettinger was the winner in the eighth grade division and Jessica Range of Milford was the 12th grade winner.
The topic of this year’s contest was “My thoughts of the Iowa State Fair: past, present or future”.
A total of 170 essays were submitted.
Top winners in each division won 25 dollars and will read their essays at 12 Noon this Sunday in the John Deere Agriculture Building sponsored by Alliant Energy.
