(Undated)– Two local school districts have special events planned to rollout laptop computer initiatives for the first time this coming school year.
The Graettinger-Terril district will hold an event this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. for its initiative for grades 7-12. It will be held in the Graettinger school gym.
The Spirit Lake School District will hold a rollout event for its 7th-12th grade students Tuesday, August 24th at 6:00 p.m. in the new high school gym. That will be followed by sessions for students and parents on how to care for the machines and insuring them.
School officials say no laptop will be given to a student unless a parent is present to sign the necessary forms.
Teachers in the Spirit Lake district have had their laptops since April and are undergoing training sessions, including how to integrate laptops into the curriculum.
