(Undated)– Some local schools will be getting funding through the federal government’s Star Schools Program.
The funding was included in the 2003 Fiscal Year Omnibus Appropriations Bill to help connect middle and elementary schools to the internet.
Locally, elementary schools in Estherville, George, Harris-Lake Park and Ocheyedan will receive 25-thousand dollars each; along with the West Bend-Mallard and Sibley-Ocheyedan Middle Schools.
A total of 1.5 million dollars was awarded to 64 elementary and middle schools throughout the state.
