Local Residents Sited For Honesty

November 22, 2014

(Milford)– Two local residents are credited for returning a lost billfold…complete with its contents…to its rightful owner.

It happened over the Fourth of July when Carol Gardner of Omaha was spending time with her family in the lakes area. Her father had recently passed away and she and her sisters had signed papers and split her dad’s estate, leaving Gardner with about 20-thousand dollars in cashiers checks and cash. After getting the money, Gardner left her billfold on top of her van as she was leaving a Milford grocery store.

A short while later Tim Titterington and his son Dylan were driving home when they saw 20 dollar bills swirling around the highway. They stopped and spent an hour picking up the money, credit cards and other items from the billfold. A contact number helped them track down Carol Gardner.

She was appreciative, to say the least. She offered the Titteringtons one hundred dollars, which they turned down.

16-year-old Dylan Titterington said “we’re just farmers out here, and we’ve got most everything we need.”
