(Okoboji)– Special recognition for an Okoboji man running for the Iowa State House in this November’s General Election.
Jeff Smith has been named this year’s recipient of the “Friend of Agriculture” award presented by the Iowa Farm Bureau Political Action Committee.
The grassroots effort to designate Friends of Ag is guided by members and began in July when county committees evaluated candidates. 95 County Farm Bureau Campaign 2010 Committees submitted candidate evaluations this year.
The nine member PAC committee reviews the evaluations, while also considering candidates positions on issues of importance to Farm Bureau members.
