(Spencer)– Soldiers with the National Guard’s 1st battalion 194th field artillery are coming home.
According to Colonel Robert King, the soldiers are to return to northwest Iowa on Saturday, July 26th.
Teh battalion has units in Spencer, Algona, Storm Lake, Estherville and Fort Dodge. The soldiers were called to active duty September 7th and were moved to locations in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio where they provided security during military installations.
Homecoming celebrations have been planned for July 26th at the various unit locations in northwest Iowa. The ceremonies will be held simultaneously beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend the welcome home ceremonies.
