Local Communities Awarded “Branching Out” Grants

(Undated)– Several local communities have been awarded grants through a tree planting program sponsored by Alliant Energy and Trees Forever.

More than 407,900-dollars is being awarded to communities throughout the state in the latest round of “Branching Out” grants.

In Dickinson county, Arnolds Park was awarded 4,500-dollars; the Lakes Art Center in Okoboji will get 2,100-dollars; two-thousand dollars was awarded to the city of Spirit Lake; and Wahpeton will get a thousand dollars.

Branching Out grants have also been awarded to Alta, which gets two thousand dollars; George, a thousand dollars; Peterson receives 500-dollars; Sibley will get 1,500-dollars and Storm Lake was awarded 3,500-dollars.

129 communities throughout the state were awarded Branching Out Grants this year.
