(Spencer)– The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is holding public input meetings this fall for five protected water areas in the state. The Little Sioux River is one of them.
The DNR says the protected water areas were identified by the public as having outstanding cultural and natural resource values from 1985 through 1990 in accordance with Iowa Code.
The meeting for the Little Sioux River scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9th at the Oneota Cabin at the Clay County Conservation Board headquarters in Spencer.
Based on the outcome of the meetings, the DNR says one of the five protected waterways will be selected as a pilot project for an updated management plan.
