(Spirit Lake)– You can expect to see a few more motorcycles than usual on area roads this coming weekend.
The Iowa Great Lakes Area will host the midwest region’s fall conference of the Blue Knights motorcycle group, whose members are law enforcement personnel.
One of them is Spirit Lake policeman Brian Stahl. He tells KUOO news the Blue Knights will hold their Midwest Regional Fall Conference at Village West Resort this Saturday and Sunday.
The midwest region is comprised of 29 chapter from nine states, including the local Spirit Lake chapter.
Stahl says the organization’s primary goal is to promote safety among motorcycle riders while reminding drivers of other types of vehicles to be on the lookout for the bikes.
