(Laurens)– The Laurens Police Chief is back on the job.
57-year-old Rodney Watkins had been placed on administrative leave in late February after he was arrested on domestic abuse charges. The Pocahontas County Attorney’s Office handed the case over to an investigator from the Iowa Bureau of Criminal Investigation who conducted a full investigation into the allegations against Watkins.
Following a review of facts and circumstances, the concerns of the family negotiations between the defense and prosecution, an agreement was reached for a deferred judgement.
