(Sibley)– Authorities say it’ll be sometime next week before they know the cause of a blaze that destroyed one business and damaged a couple of others last Saturday in downtown Sibley.
The blaze completely destroyed the Mau Decorating store. Two neighboring businesses sustained considerable smoke and water damage and were still closed as of Wednesday.
Dave Schipper of the State Fire Marshall’s Office was at the scene Wednesday…but his investigation into the cause is being hampered by tons of rubble.
A special crane was brought in to lift up a large slab of concrete that collapsed on top of an area where the investigation is being focused, but it was unable to move it. It will now have to be broken up by special equipment.
