(Spirit Lake)– They were talking trash at Tuesday’s Dickinson County Board of Supervisors meeting.
Representatives of Waste Management, Incorporated…owner/operator of the Dickinson County Landfill east of Arnolds Park…met with supervisors to address their concerns. Company spokesman John Kellis estimates the landfill still has atleast 10 years left in its lifespan.
Kellis said the company is working to address other concerns…such as trash being blown onto privately owned land surrounding the landfill.
Kellis says Waste Management has also reduced the amount of garbage coming from Minnesota over the past year in half. Kellis says the company recently opened a new landfill in that state.
