(Okoboji)– The Lakes Art Center is hoping to land a state grant to help in the financing of its expansion project.
Representatives of the center’s board of directors were at Tuesday’s Dickinson County Board of Supervisors meeting requesting a letter of support for the state grant application. Board member Rosemary Ward says at this point, they aren’t sure how much they’ll be applying for.
Ward and another board member, Ace Cory, said they’ll be back at next week’s supervisor meeting requesting the county provide some matching funds for the grant. Ward says they’ll be asking for somewhere between 50-thousand and 100-thousand dollars a year over five years from the county.
