(Okoboji)– Finishing touches are being put on the 3.2 million dollar expansion project at the Lakes Art Center in Okoboji.
It consists of the Lauridsen Performing Arts Center, Pomerantz Hall and a children’s interactive art gallery known as “Art Smart”.
Lakes Art Center Director Paula Henry says they’re actively promoting the fact the new addition is something the entire community can be proud of and use. She says they’ve already worked out arrangements for the Lakes Area Community Theatre and Spirit Lake High School to host some events at the facility.
A grand opening celebration will be held September 20th through the 21st. It will include a concert featuring the Preservation Hall Jazz Band of New Orleans, along with many more activities. Additional details will be announced as the event gets closer.
