(Spirit Lake)– Another busy night for lakes area law enforcement officers.
Officials say 42 arrests were made Thursday night and early this (Fri.) morning…most for public intoxication. Most of them, again, were made in Arnolds Park. That compares with 37 the previous night.
In addition to the arrests, traffic accidents also kept authorities busy.
Atleast six people were reportedly injured in a three-vehicle accident shortly before 8:00 p.m. Thursday on Highway 71 in front of the Stables in Okoboji. That was followed by a five car pile-up in the same spot at about 9:45 p.m. No injuries were reported in that mishap. Traffic had to be routed around the scene of each mishap…adding to the already gridlocked conditions.
A two-vehicle accident was reported in Spirit Lake late Thursday night at the corner of Memphis Avenue and Highways nine and 71. Atleast one person was sent to the hospital as a result of that crash.
Details into the mishaps weren’t immediately available.
