(Spirit Lake)– A Lakefield man escaped injury in a one-vehicle accident early this (Thurs.)morning, but the car he was driving was totaled.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Nicholas Brouwer lost control of a 1996 Dodge Neon as he was traveling southbound on Highway 86 about a mile and-a-half north of Vick’s Corner. Authorities say Brouwer swerved to miss two deer that were crossing the road. The vehicle he was driving went into the ditch.
The mishap took place shortly before 5:00 a.m.
