Lake Park Project To Receive Vision Iowa Funding

November 23, 2014

(Lake Park)– The proposed construction of a new middle/high school building and arts and recreational complex on the south side of Lake Park is going to get some Vision Iowa funding. The only question is how much.

Harris-Lake Park Superintedent Gary Richardson says the Vision Iowa board has issued a notice of intent to award some funding for the project. A negotiations team will decide the amount. Richardson says they’ve applied for 1.75 million…but he says the award will probably be less than that. The project has a total price tag of about 7.35 million dollars.

Richardson says the Vision Iowa award would be contingent on a bond issue being passed. A previous attempt at doing that failed. Richardson says another attempt will probably be made in late June.
