(Lake Park)– A paving project in Lake Park has received a special award.
The project consisted of slightly more than 50 blocks of streets throughout the city.
Scott Brunsvold of the Jacobson-Westergard Engineering firm was the Project Manager. He says the project was recognized by the Concrete Paving Association as the best in Iowa in the Municipal Streets category.
Brunsvold says the judging was based on several criteria including smoothness, rideability, general construction methods, and others. Brunsvold says the state award automatically qualifies the project for the national award.
Allied Construction of Charles City was the general contractor on the project, which was completed last fall.
