(Des Moines)– State Senator Jack Kibbie of Emmetsburg has been elected by Democratic members of the Iowa Senate to help lead them over the next two years. Senator Kibbie is one of four Assistant Minority Leaders who will guide the 21 Democratic members in the Iowa Senate.
Kibbie will begin his 23rd year in the legislature this January. As a State Senator, he helped found Iowa’s community colleges and a pension system for state, county and educational employees. Senator Kibbie is a ranking member on the Ethics Committee and State Government Committee. He is also a member of the Agriculture Committee, Education Appropriations Subcommittee and the Natural Resources and Environment Committee.
