(Spirit Lake)– This past July will go on the record books as being one of the wettest ever in the Iowa Great Lakes.
According to records compiled here at the KUOO studios, 7.53 inches of rain fell in July. That compares with 6.21 inches in July of 1993, which saw severe flooding in the Iowa Great Lakes. That was due largely however to extremely heavy rains that also fell in May and June that year.
