Jackson Speedway To Hold Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

(Jackson, Mn.)– The Jackson Speedway holds its annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony this weekend at the Jackson County Fair.

This year’s inductees include Mike Thurmer of Jackson, a long-time official going back to the years when the Jackson VFW operated the track; Matt Spies of Spirit Lake, a four-time point title winner; Larry Smith of Windom, a long-time driver at the speedway; and Joel Taylor of Milford who will be honored posthumously. Taylor lost his life at the Jackson Speedway in a tragic crash in 1980.

The induction ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday (July 31st) in the Anderson Building at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.
