(Jackson, Mn.)– Charges have been filed against a Jackson, Minnesota man in connection with a high speed chase early this morning that started just north of Spirit Lake on 240th Avenue and ended across the border in Jackson county.
Officials say it started around 1:30 a.m. when a Spirit Lake police officer observed a motorcycle traveling north at 103 miles-per-hour in a 50 mile-per-hour zone. The officer lost track of the motorcycle and authorities in Jackson county, Minnesota were contacted. They managed to stop it a short time later. The operator, 20-year-old Fotis Tsialiamanis of Jackson, was positively identified as the man wanted in connection with the pursuit. Tsialiamanis was charged with speeding, wreckless driving and failure to have a valid license for a motorcycle.
Authorities say there was no property damage and no injuries.
