(St. Paul)– A 4-H member from Jackson county who showed the reserve champion steer at the Minnesota State Fair has been stripped of his title.
19-year-old Brandon Lusk’s title was revoked after the steer tested positive for a diuretic…a drug that induces urination to promote weight loss. Officials at the Minnesota State Fair consider the substance to be illegal in show animals.
Lusk denies giving the drug to the animal.
The reserve champion steer netted five thousand dollars in prize and auction money.
