(Spencer)– Iowa Lakes Community College is conducting an on-line survey to see if there’s enough interest in pursuing the start-up of some new programs.
Kitty Connover, Director of the Spencer ILCC attendance center, says the college’s board of trustees has agreed to implement the new programs if there’s enough interest among current and prospective students.
The programs being considered are message therapist, certified surgical first assistant, pharmacy technician, respiratory therapist, paramedic, golf course/turf grass specialist, and computer forensics.
Connover says surveys have been mailed to employers throughout northwest Iowa to see if they have a demand for those types of employees. Now, she says they’re determining if there would be enough students to make the programs worthwhile. Connover says current and prospective students are urged to participate in the survey being conducted on ILCC’s website at www.ilcc.cc.ia.us/ until March 14th.
Connover says they hope to have the results tabulated by early April, with a decision on the programs to be offered coming shortly after that.
