Iowa Great Lakes Cleanwater Alliance Hires Coordinator

November 23, 2014

(Wahpeton)– The Iowa Great Lakes Cleanwater Alliance has a new coordinator.

Steve Anderson, who’s been working on other water-related projects in the Iowa Great Lakes, has been hired to head up the organization.

Anderson says his top priority is to see the 28E agreement between the county and cities finalized. It would provide long-term funding to water quality improvement projects in the county. Lake Park and Terril have yet to sign on to the agreement. It will be presented to those city councils in the next few weeks.

Anderson says it’s his goal to expand membership in the Cleanwater Alliance to other watersheds in the county. He’s hopeful they can also get involved in projects in the Minnesota portion of the Iowa Great Lakes watershed.
