Investigator Rules Cause Of Fire That Leveled Barn As “Undetermined”

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The cause of a weekend fire that destroyed a barn on the south edge of Spirit Lake may never be known.

Spirit Lake Fire Chief David Kollasch tells KUOO news David Schipper of the State Fire Marshal’s Office was on the scene Saturday and ruled the cause as “undetermined”.

The barn burned to the ground. Equipment stored inside it, including a tractor and two riding lawn mowers, were destroyed.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 3:00 a.m. Saturday and found the barn at 2412 Lincoln Avenue totally engulfed. Some nearby outbuildings were also on fire but those were quickly put out.
