(Spirit Lake)– It could be the middle of this month before any additional information is released into the death of a Spirit Lake infant.
The body of four and-a-half month-old Shania Laird was found in her home at 904 12th Street May 16th. An autopsy listed the manner of death as asphyxia. But authorities haven’t said what could have caused it.
Shania was the daughter of Lori Mason and John Laird of Spirit Lake.
Spirit Lake Police Chief Jon Martyr says a very thorough investigation is ongoing, and no other information will be released until they have something relevant.
No charges have been filed in the case.
