(Arnolds Park)– A delegation of international visitors will tour the Iowa Great Lakes Area late this summer.
Every two years U-S Senator Chuck Grassley invites ambassadors from all over the world to travel to Iowa. This year, north central and northwest Iowa have been selected for the ambassador’s tour. Nicki Anderson of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce says they’ll be in the lakes area Tuesday, August 12th, where they’ll spend the night.
Anderson says they’ll be touring the Polaris Industries plant in Spirit Lake, followed by a dinner that evening at the Pavilion in Arnolds Park. After that, she says host families will accompany the ambassadors on tours of the various attractions in the lakes area.
Anderson says 56 ambassadors have signed up so far. Many are expected to bring their spouse or an invited guest…bringing the total number to over a hundred. They’ll be coming from places like the Phillipines, Russia, Germany, France, Japan, and so on.
Anyone interested in hosting an ambassador and his or her guest for the night of August 12th should contact the Iowa Great Lakes Chamber of Commerce at 332-2107 or 1-800-839-9987.
