ILCC Trustees Give Approval To Proceed In Developing New Programs

November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– Iowa Lakes Community College may soon be offering some new programs.

The school’s board of trustees Tuesday gave approval to proceed in developing programs for a Surgical Technology First Assistant; Pharmacy Technician; Licensed Massage Therapist; Emergency Medical Services; Turf Grass Management; Respiratory Therapist and Computer Forensics. College officials say the Surg Tech First Assistant and the Computer Forensics programs would be the only programs of their kind in the state of Iowa.

The next step is to notify the state of the college’s intention. That will be followed by a survey of potential students to determine their interest in the proposed programs. Local employers will also be contacted to determine the number of jobs available in those areas.

ILCC trustees also Tuesday set February 18th as the date for public hearings on the student center project proposed for the Estherville campus and on the college’s proposed budget for the 2004 fiscal year.
