ILCC Trustees Approve Tuition Hike

November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– It’s going to cost more to attend Iowa Lakes Community College in the next school year.

The school’s board of trustees voted Tuesday evening to increase tuition by nine dollars per credit hour…bringing the cost to 82 dollars per credit hour for residents of Iowa and Minnesota. Out-of-state and international students will pay 84 dollars per credit hour.

College officials say they held off on taking the action until after last month’s special session of the legislature. They say they were forced to take the action when lawmakers failed to come up with additional funding for community colleges.

ILCC trustees also Tuesday evening approved a two-year agreement for employee salaries and benefits. The total package for fiscal oh-three was set at four-point-seven-five percent…which includes both salaries and insurance costs. For fiscal oh-four it will be four and-a-half percent.
