(Estherville)– An English Professor at Iowa Lakes Community College and a former teacher at Harris-Lake Park and Spirit Lake has received a special honor.
Vicki Perry has received a Distinguished Service to Education Award.
Perry was cited for her dedication to making college students better writers and more responsible adults, and for staying current with her profession.
She was also cited for her communication efforts with the regional unit of the Iowa State Education Association.
Perry began teaching English at Waverly-Shell Rock from 1969 through 1974. She continued teaching at Harris-Lake Park from 1975 until 1977 and taught in Spirit Lake from 1978 until 1979, at which time she joined the Iowa Lakes faculty.
