Icy Bridge Deck Factor In Jackson Co. Rollover

November 22, 2014

(Okabena)– Authorities say an icy bridge deck was a factor in a one-vehicle rollover Friday in Jackson county that resulted in minor injuries to a Heron Lake man.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says Paul Fest of Heron Lake was driving a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup that left the road after striking an icy bridge deck. The vehicle left the road and rolled.

The jaws of life had to be used to extricate Fest, who was taken by ambulance to the Windom hospital with minor injuries.

The mishap took place shortly after 8:00 a.m. Friday on Jackson County Road Nine north of Okabena.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Okabena Fire Department, Heron Lake Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
