(Des Moines)– The Iowa Department of Public Health announced today (Thursday) they’ve expanded the age group recommended to get mumps shots. They have opened the age group up 25 years. So now, anyone between 18 and 25-years-old is strongly urged to get the shots if they haven’t had them in the past or can’t come up with proof they’ve had them in the past.
Following Wednesday’s clinic at the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College, the remaining doses will be given to 18 to 25 year-olds at the Emmet County Public Health Department from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. both today (Thursday) and Friday. The office is located across the street from the Estherville-Lincoln Central High School on South 17th Street in Estherville.
While there is no charge for the shots, participants may make a donation to help offset the costs.
