(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Sunday on Highway 71 at 485th Street in Clay county sent one person to the hospital.
The Iowa State Patrol says it involved a 1995 Ford Thunderbird driven by 23-year-old Scott Anderson of Mason City and a 1982 Yamaha motorcycle driven by 45-year-old Julie Hember of Rembrandt.
Hember was taken by ambulance to Spencer Hospital. There was no immediate word on the extent of her injuries or condition. No injuries were reported to Anderson.
Troopers say Anderson was westbound on 485th Street when he failed to stop for a stop sign and pulled into the path of the southbound motorcycle operated by Hember. Authorities say the impact of the crash sent Hember flying off the motorcycle. She landed on the south shoulder of the highway.
The State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Peterson and Royal Rescue and the Spencer ambulance.
The collision took place shortly after 6:30 p.m.
