(Sibley)– A head-on collision late Tuesday morning on Highway 60 north of Ashton resulted in minor injuries to one person.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says Brian Winter of Sibley was northbound on Highway 60 when he fell asleep. The vehicle he was driving crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a vehicle driven by Donald Walstrom of Lehigh, Iowa. Winter’s vehicle came to rest in the west ditch.
Winter was treated on the scene by the Ashton Ambulance for minor cuts. He refused transport to a hospital. No injuries were reported to Walstrom.
10-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 2001 Volvo driven by Walstrom; damage to a 1993 Ford driven by Winter was estimated at two-thousand dollars.
Winter was cited for failure to prove security, failure to maintain control and failure to carry registration.
