Horse, Cat Shot At Residence East Of Arnolds Park

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in tracking down whoever’s responsible for shooting a horse and a cat Monday at a residence east of Arnolds Park.

Deputies were called to the Tom Ritzer residence at 2443 202nd Street upon getting a report of the animals being shot. It’s believed the incident took place between 11:15 a.m. and 11:44 a.m. Monday.

The horse was treated by a veterinarian; the cat died.

Anyone with any information into the incident should contact the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office at 336-2793 or Dickinson County Crimestoppers at 336-2345. Up to $200 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest. A reward of $1,000 has also been posted by the Tom Ritzer family for information that leads to the arrest of whoever’s responsible.
