(Spirit Lake)– Homeowners are once again being reminded to make sure sump pumps are working correctly and that they are draining into yards.
Spirit Lake Water Superintendent Dean Dodds says it’s important to make sure pumps aren’t discharging into sewers, which are currently flowing near capacity.
Dodds says any additional water going into the sewers could overload the system, resulting in backups into homes and possible bypasses into the lake.
