Hoglot Hearing Continued-Again

November 23, 2014

(Des Moines)– A hearing on Dickinson county’s appeal of a permit the Iowa Department of Natural Resources has granted for a four-thousand head hog lot southwest of Milford has been continued again.

The D-N-R’s Environmental Protection Commission was supposed to hold the hearing at their regular monthly meeting today (Monday). But Assistant Dickinson County Attorney Lonnie Saunders says it’s being continued indefinitely as negotiations continue between Dutch Creek Custom Farms and those opposed to the proposed operation.

The D-N-R received the county’s request to continue the hearing last Wednesday.

It’s the second time the hearing has been continued on the hopes some sort of compromise can be worked out.
