(Milford)– Two people were injured in a car/semi accident shortly before 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the junction of county roads A-34 and M-27 nine miles west of Milford.
The Iowa State Patrol says a 1999 Chrysler driven by 51-year-old David DeLapp of Hinton and a 2000 International semi tractor/trailer driven by 44-year-old Randy Schultz of Peterson collided in the intersection. DeLapp and a passenger in the vehicle he was driving, his wife Penny, were taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake. Their injuries weren’t believed to be serious. No injuries were reported to Schultz.
Authorities say DeLapp was attempting to go through the intersection and failed to see the oncoming semi.
20-thousand dollars in damage was estimated to a 1999 Chrysler DeLapp was driving; the semi sustained an estimated 10-thousand dollars in damage. No damage was reported to a parked snowplow owned by Dickinson county.
