(Arnolds Park)– A major bridge replacement project is about to get underway in the Iowa Great Lakes.
Dickinson County Engineer Dan Eckert says crews will start work on the Trigg’s, or Hinshaw Bridge replacement project, this coming Monday (Sept. 19th).
Eckert says those on the southeast side of East Lake Okoboji looking to get to the other side of the lake…or vice versa…will have to take a different route. Traffic will be detoured onto Highway 71 south from Arnolds Park to Milford, then east on County Road A-34, then north on 240th Avenue (the Pelican Ridge Road).
Eckert says the project will continue through the winter.
Graves Construction of Melvin, Iowa is the general contractor on the nearly one and-a-half million dollar project. Of that, the federal government is paying 80 percent of the cost with the remainder being split by Dickinson county and the city of Arnolds Park.
