(Spirit Lake)– Hilltop Care Center of Spirit Lake is planning to open a unit for patients of Alzheimers disease.
Administrator Todd Newbaum tells KUOO news they’re going to convert an existing wing of the nursing home to a 14 bed Alzheimer’s unit. Newbaum says they’ve been working with an architect several months already and that the plans are now complete. He says they’re now waiting for state approval.
Newbaum says they’ll be hiring additional staff for the unit but as of right now he’s not sure how many jobs will be added.
